support for a wife

Thinking about a divorce Im 64 yrs old ,retired wondering if ''wife'' can force me to pay money from my pensions or social security checks for her support?

Assuming that wife was a homemaker that never worked and never earned an income. She took care of kids, house and you. Also assuming that this is a long term marriage (+30 years), I would think that the wife is entitled to lifetime maintenance (support).

Wife would be entitled to equitable distribution of the pension. If there is an award of maintenance, You would have to pay your wife from assets (income, bank accounts, stock accounts, etc.).
