Supporting a child until 21 years

If my child does not live with me why would I have to cover expenses until he is 21.

Does your child not live with you because (s)he is emancipated, or is it because of school enrollment on campus, or other living arrangement? You need to be more specific as to why your child is not residing with you.

If it's due to school enrollment away from your residence, then the answer maybe, yes.
