Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Taking children accross state lines

My wife and myself just had one of our children pass away. We live in new york state. She has left for connecticut to stay with her parents and has taken our daughter against my wishes. Is there any legal way I can get my daughter back short of driving there and waiting till they leave the house to go to the store? We are married with no seperation or anything.

Re: Taking children accross state lines

You may file a Family Court Petition for Visitation and/or Custody. With the petition you may file a writ to demand the daughter to be produced before the Court.
