At minimum, it's likely that your case will be dismissed. It can also lead to a request by the other side for sanctions.

You don't get the Order of Protection and you may not be allowed to pursue one in the future. Best not to file if you are not going to go through with it. Even if you decided to settle, you should go to court and give the judge the courtesy of putting the settlement into the record. Speak to an attorney in your area to discuss this further.
