Hello.I would like to know about terms of divorce in NY. How long does it take in case:

1. cruel and unhuman treatment to the partner

2. adultery

3. What are there ways to make a term of divorce as short as possible?

4. What do usually people use in NY to get divorced fast?

Thanks for your help in advance

Re: Terms of divorce in NY

The answer to all of your questions is "it depends." That may sound unhelpful, but the reality is that litigation is highly unpredictable. Depending on the issues that are in dispute, it could take months or years. Two parties who are in complete agreement today could reasonably hope to be finally divorced by around next spring. If grounds are the only issue, it would not take much longer. However, to get divorced quickly in NY, the parties typically agree on grounds such as constructive abandonment or cruelty.
