Legal Question in Family Law in New York

transcripts from the court hearing

What was said by a judge at the hearing and what is in the order is different. The judge said 100 a month for a sitter, but then the order 2 month later is sent and 80$ is ordered with the judge's written explanation that this is more reasonable. I went to court to see his notes in court papers and see his handwriting 100$. But it's not clear and very brief. But I am 100% sure I heard 100$ weekly. A written transcript of the hearing is about 400$. What should I do? If I file a motion, what are the chances and should I have an attorney to to that?

Re: transcripts from the court hearing

The transcript alone will cover 80 months of the difference @ [ $100 - 80 =] $20 / month.

And then you want to hire a lawyer too?

Be careful, or the Judge may change it to weekly.

Re: transcripts from the court hearing

If you heard the Judge order $100 weekly but the written order states $80 monthly..that is a very big discrepancy ($320 per mo diff = $3,840 in the first yr alone). That is worth ordering transcript and hiring an atty. HOWEVER, if you meant that you heard the Judge order $100 mo but written order is $80 month...not worth the expense to re-open.
