Legal Question in Family Law in New York

transportation issues

I recently got custody of my children and my ex moved out of state. All the court order says that we are to ''share'' transportation. So far we have been splitting the driving half way. Now for the summer, she bought a plane ticket down for them (accompanied by their grandmother). She is refusing to take half the money for the plane ticket and she is refusing to meet me half way to pick them up. She said that I am responisible for getting them back home at the end of the summer which means I will have to drive all the way there and back because I don't want them flying alone. Does she have a right to change what we have been doing? or the right to tell me how we are going to ''share'' the transportation?

Re: transportation issues

No. You should go to family court in your home county and file for a change of visitation. She changed the paradigm, You have a right to protect yourself from the increased cost.

You need to realize that if the children are old enough, the court will not agree that they cannot fly alone.

Good luck.
