Legal Question in Family Law in New York

trial starts tomarrow help please

i moved 135 miles away to be with my family out of the city to the country. he gets every other weekend right now, it was every week end. i pay for transportation. he now wants me to move back to the city. so he can have his week ends back.he's playing with my sons head,took him to prison to visit his other son,and harrases me all the time.he has moved at least 7 times in 7 years,has a unsteady realionship with his live in girl. and drinks ALOT. is never on time when i come to drop off nad pick up my son. he's 8. weve been here 5 1/2 months now. i had a lawyer untill 15min ago she now states i dont qualify for legal assistance, after the judge appointed her. they talked about a tropea vs tropea.i need help really fast. if you can thank you. i leave here at 8am fri the 8th.for trial. thank you cynthia

You need to try to get an adjournment so that you have time to prepare. When your case is called, request and adjournment and explain that your lawyer dropped you at the 11th hour. Either way, come to court prepared. Make a list detailing your major points about why it is in the best interest of the child to keep things as they are. IF you have times and dates of specific incidents, write those down and take them along, too. Also, think long and hard about any possible arguments that your ex might make and how you will respond to them. Good luck.
