Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I am a UK citizen, my wife has been a NY citizen all her life. We were married in NY in January and are now looking to get an uncontested, no-fault divorce. We have forms filled in, if I had her file them in NY what would be the next step in the process? I want to do this without having to travel there- would I be able to get the forms notarized from the UK? Thankyou for any help.

If you have the documents notarized at a U.S. Consulate or Embassy or by an American Notary they'll be accepted by the court.

Yes, you can do it from the UK with no presence required in NY. Papers must be notarized at the US Embassy or Consulate. Call them for an appointment, it sometimes takes several months. If you need low cost help, see http://www.NYCDivorceCenter.com
