Legal Question in Family Law in New York

not understanding

hi, i went through a divorce, the judge rule that my husband give me certain amout of money in a year, a year and a half gone by, but my lawyer keep telling me he have to go file papers, get bank sweeps and all sorts of things and he keep taking money from me..i have a feeling he just trying to rip me off, i dont have enough money to give him. I dont understand if the judge says i have to get this money, why am i still paying my lawyer to do things, when my lawyer says i will give him my balance when the job is done, please help me to understand this better.

Sometimes there are certain procedures that a person has to go through in order to get money according to the judge's ruling.

You might want to consult another attorney to check whether your case has been properly handled.
