Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Underthetablechildcare

My ex wife has full custody of my three children in New York and just sent me information on the child care she has arranged. She explained to me that it is ''under the table'' and the cost is 1000 a month, half of which I am supposed to pay. I dont believe this is right and I think I am being taken. What is my legal right when I counter her on this deal?

Re: Underthetablechildcare

Assumning your parental rights have not been terminated, you have the right to know the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of the care providers. You should talk to the provider and assure yourself that they are licensed, competent and honest. "Under the table" child care does not sound like something your children should be involved in. Your children are the most precious "asset" you and your ex have. Why would anyone want to discount their care? Get more information. Your "counter" may be to take custody yourself so that the children can be cared for in a proper manner.
