Unwed father's visitation

unwed father has court ordered visitation (8 consecutive days each month, 5 consecutive weeks in summer), mother accuses him of dealing drugs (taped conversation between ''mother'' & Father'' only evidence), how long can court dates be posponed without father & son seeing each other?

Re: Unwed father's visitation

I actually receive this question a lot from my clients, and I usually use the US Supreme Court as a metaphor in my answer.

If you ever go to the US Supreme Court you will notice that there are turtles under the light fixtures and in many other places. The turtles stand for the pace of justice, slow but sure.

Eventually you will get a result. The result will be based on the best interest of the child. If the best interest of the child is to continue with visitation, you will have years to make up lost time. So have patience.

Mike.
