Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Visitation

We have joint legal custody, I am the primary care giver. The original visitation order was deviated from a few years ago, due to my ex's ever changing work schedule. Recently, visitation has become more of a challange due to our son being in school and dealing with different rules, bed times, etc. during the school week. As it stands he is with his father thurs and friday after school, of which he spends the majority of thurs with his grandparents due to his father working nights and not being up when he gets out of school. My question is since the visitation that was court ordered does not include our son being with his father on thurs. can I stop visitation on said day without going to court to have this amended? Secondly, is my ex within his right to add people to the pick up list at our son's school and do I have to allow my son's grandparents to be able to pick my son up from school?

Thank you for your time.

Re: Visitation

It sounds as if you were allowing liberal visitation, which is definitely encouraged by most courts. However, if there is an Order of Visitation, then you can legally just stick to that order. As for the grandparents picking the kidds up, unless there is a safety issue, which should have been brought up in court, there is nothing stopping them from doing this.
