Legal Question in Family Law in New York
visitation
I have phyical custody of 8 year old son...8 months ago I moved closer to my family but have continued following the visitation order to take him to see his Dad every other weekend.I do all the transporting...Now I have been ORDERED to move back to my old hometown by Sept 1st.. Visiataion order is still the same, so why should it matter WHERE I live as long as order is being followed??? How can a Judge dictate where someone lives.. I am still in same state, New York. Son is in a much smaller school now and excelling..Live in the country instead of Huge city with high crime... What can I do to change order to move.I live on limited income and cannot afford a move,1st, last months rent in a new place, plus to pull son from yet another school...Lived 4 miles from sons Dad (we wasn't married) for 6 years and he never contacted him or went to school functions.. Tried to explain all this to my court appointed lawyer and Law guardian but they wouldn't listen to me..Said I had to move. Judge in the case isn't even a real Judge. called a referee?? Please help...I can find no-one that will.. Thanks for your time

Re: visitation
As it is a referee you ahould have received notice that you can appeal by letter within 30 days to the family court. State all your reasoning.
