Legal Question in Family Law in New York

New York family law

I am a single mom with 2 children. My 18-year old son left school at 16, refuses to go for his GED or look for work. He has stolen money from his family, has a drinking and at times drug problem. He has a baby he is not currently allowed to see who lives with his ex-girlfriend's family. I have done all I can to help, but he refuses to finish school or get a job. Can I ask him to leave home? He really has no place else to go as his father lives in another state, and no one in the family wants anything to do with him. I have a 14-year old daughter to consider who is beginning to exhibit the same type of behaviour he did at that age.

Re: New York family law

He is an adult so you can ask him to leave. If he doesn't though, you can only get him out by going to Housing Court.
