Do employees have to use vacation time for family illness
Under the fmla inacted by the federal gov. Does an employee have use his or her vacation or sick time when they are off work due to the illness of a child or spouse, or can they reqwest the time off without pay. The company I work for says you have to use your vacation or sick time under the law. Is there any way I can obtain a copy of the fmla? If so please notify me. Thank you in advace for your time and help.

Yes. your employer can require you to take paid leave. You can find an explanation of the FMLA at the Depatment of labor's web site. http://www.dol.gov/dol/asp/public/programs/handbook/fmla.htm
