Legal Question in Medical Leave in New York
Grandparents rights under FMLA
my coworker applied for and was granted FMLA due to the upcoming birth of grandchild by c-section, the need to care for her daughter. she was denied pay for this and feels she is entitled because her daughter will be incapicated and she will also care for her grandchild while her daughter is hospitalized.
are there any provisions under which she can get her pay during this time?

Re: Grandparents rights under FMLA
FMLA does not provide for paid leave
It provides that you won't lose your
job during the absence
The only other place to look for benefits
is under a union contract
