Legal Question in Medical Leave in New York
I work in a Physicians office and was asked to fill out FMLA papers for one our our patient's daughters who is not a patient of ours but took time off while he was ill and for his death. Shouldn't her physician fill out those forms?

The FMLA covers leave for the care for an immediate family member (spouse, child, or parent) with a serious health condition. Therefore, she is entitled to such a leave and her late father's physician is "doing the right thing."
