Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Artistic Rights

Hi, I sang at a wedding free of charge with an oral contract prior to the event that I would be entitled to a copy of the DVD of my singing, since which time the bride/groom and videographer refse to comply and allow me to either copy or have them copy for me my singing portions of their wedding video-- Do I have any legal recourse -- this is New York State -- USA

Re: Artistic Rights

An oral contract is enforceable. However, the cost to commence an action for specific performance - directing the bride/groom to produce a copy of the tape- may be as expensive as reproducing another tape.
