Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Hello. I belong to a Christian church that is very strict. I recently met a woman who is 32 and I am a 59 year old man. We have a great attraction an affection for each other. The church recently told us if we date or get married, we will be out of the church. They are also forbidding us to speak or contact each other outside of church services. We have not had any sexual or immoral contact at any time. This is just because of the age difference. Is this legal? They also do not allow interracial dating or marriage. Is this legal?

Premised on your description, there is nothing Christian about the Church you are describing. I would change my house of worship immediately since it seems anathema to your beliefs.
