Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

I brought a rabbit on jan 6. I was informed the bunny was healthy. I paid 62. Then I brought supplies totaling 82. The rabbit started showing signs of sickness on the 8th. I brought more supplies, I took the bunny to the vet on 1/10 because it had severe diarehhea and would not eat. The vet indicated the bunny can not be saved and would likely die in the night. The bunny passed on and the bill for the vet is 92. Is it possible to seek damages for all my fees and pain and suffering from Petland Discounts. I have my receipts and the pic of the bunny looking healthy as well as the deceased which I was going to return to them in the morning.

Your best bet would be to entice the seller to provide you with another rabbit either free or at a reduced price. Otherwise you will have to prove that they had knowledge about the physical condition of the rabbit before they sold it. If they are too hardnosed about it, try the small claims court.
