Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

cohabitation

My girl friend wishes to move in and she's seperated from her husband for ten years but still has the married surname and outstanding debts. She appears to be indecisive with our possible long term relationship. Is there a basic way in which I can be protected from any unwelcome finacial burdens, pitfalls, or obligations while she is living with me?

Re: cohabitation

You can have a cohabitation agreement where you can detail each party's financial obligations to the other (or lack of it). This may also include a waiver of future unaccrued child support.
