Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Cosigner on car

I financed a car,my credit was bad so my employer signed along with me on the loan ... the title has my name on it and it is registered to me... but his name is on the loan...I have since left the company and am worried he may try to take the car away...I traded my personal car in on this one.... I would like to know how I can protect myself from that?

Re: Cosigner on car

If the title is only in your name, he cannot come and take the car. Even if you default, he is on the hook as co-signer, but has no legal title.

Frankly, he is the one who should be worried. Pay timely and you should have no problems.
