Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

depositions

I live in AZ and have received ''Notice of Deposition'' demanding I appear at plaintiff's law office in NY. Can I petition the court to allow all depositions, interrogatories, and hearings to be via phone conference or mail?

Re: depositions

You have not provided enough information for me (or any attorney) to give a full response. What I can advise is that you should not do anything whatsoever until you speak to a New York attorney.

Any attorney will need to know, among other things: Were you were served with a Complaint? Were you properly served? Did you answer? If you have not answered, does the court have jurisdiction over you in New York? Is it a "noticed" deposition or is it Court-ordered? etc. etc. etc.

Hope this is helpful.
