Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

lawn cutting company harrassing me and my landlord

I switched lawn service company in July 2005. I had a $80.00 last month balance owed. I switched compay because the price went from $75.00 a month to $80.00 without notice.

I brought it to his attention and agreed to the increase. He kept adding unauthorized charges each week bringing my $80.00 monthly to $125 and $150 monthly. I told him I wold not pay he also blew the leves into the bushes and weeds were killing my flowers. I have a new company $100 month includes all. No extra charges. Last month the the company that use to service my grass went to my neighbor/Landlord demanding $250 past due for July 2005. He demanded payment or he would put a lien on the house. I rceived a phone call from an angry landlord. Two weeks ago he did it again, my landlord is upset a this is making a problem for me with my landlord who has nothing to do with lawn services. I do not owe the amount he is asking.

Can he put a lien on the house? Is what he is doing legal?

Re: lawn cutting company harrassing me and my landlord

This is an obviously nasty person.

I would be happy to write him an equally nasty letter on my 'lawyer letterhead' stationary requesting that he cease this harassment for no fee.

Just a letter, glad to help.

email me the information and I will have it out by the end of the week. Also your landlord so he knows you have 'taken action'.

I don't like blusterers and bullies.
