Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

not a loan

i had a dog who was injured.i wanted her put to sleep.the vet bill was 1800 dollars.my friend volunteered to keep the dog.she paid the 1100 dollars of the vet bill.i paid the remaining balance.she has had the dog for 4 months.she is now taking me to small claims court sayins the money she paid was a loan.i never asked,agreed.or signed any contract.could she win this case?

Of course she could win. You don't get to keep her money. You're lucky she isn't getting interest on it.
