Message Board Privacy
Is there a legal defense for an individual who's personal information (name, phone number, address, employer, etc.) was posted on a message board by the site owners because they thought that individual was responsible for spamming the site?

Re: Message Board Privacy
It would arise under a negligence theory. There person wronged would sue for invasion of privacy. However the victim should also contact her postal inspector or the FBI/Secret Service as there may be a criminal action that can be brought against the site owner for an identity theft issue. This would permit an easier recovery of funds for the victim. If the information is still posted a cease and desist letter followed by an order from the court should be persude swiftly!!
Good luck.
