Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

neighbor harrassment and trespassing

My children had a falling out with the neighborhood kids, ages 8-10. The other children were stealing and lying and blaming my children. Being Christian, we decided to simply stop bothering with these kids. Now the kids stand on our property line and make snide remarks at us all the time. It makes going outside into the yard unpleasant. The parents do nothing. And today one of the kids fell and hurt herself in her yard. She told her mother that my daughter hit her in the head with a baseball bat. These kids run into our yard at times and I am afraid of legal action being taken against me if they get hurt. How can I keep them out? I know they are only kids, but they have gotten the whole street to join them in their crusade against us and it has gotten quite unpleasant. I would move if I could afford to!

Re: neighbor harrassment and trespassing

You can speak to the police and your local religious leader. Hopefully they will talk to the parents. I would move if things don't improve. Life is too short to be unhappy.
