Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

a newspaper reported i was arrested when i was not i was only giving a desk appearance ticket. can i sue the newspaper?

Generally, the answer would be that you may commence an action but you would not be successful. Instead, you may write to the paper and ask the publication to write a retraction.
