Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Noise

The house next door is rented and the fellow who lives there plays a boom box at all hours. It's not so much that I hear noise - but I can actually feel the ''boom, boom, etc.'' through my home. Is this something that I have to live with or is there a law against this?

Re: Noise

While this may constitute a "private

nuisance", and be the subject of a civil

lawsuit, the costs are prohibitive when

compared to the potential damages to be

recovered.

There is no general "noise" statutes.

There may be a local ordinance regarding the

nuisance. Call your local police to discuss..
