Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York
Obligation for a US physician to administer first aid
I would like to inquire if the US has any laws (in any state) that would deem it obligatory for a trained medical professional (doctor, nurse) to administer first aid outside of normal work (like at the site of a car crash) taking into account of course any resonable dangers to their own safety that would pre-clude them from such obligations. In short is it obligatory for US physicians to administer first aid outside of work.
Thank you so much for your answer!

There is an ethical obligation but I'm not aware of a legal obligation.
