Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

How owns the horse?

If a horse is given as a gift, but the papers are still in the buyers name who owns it? The buyer or the person it was given to? My wife's father purchaced a horse for her about 5 years ago, and said it was for her. Can she take the horse or does her father still own it? I need a quick respose!!! Thanks!!!

Re: How owns the horse?

He owns it. She can't enforce a "gift" under a breach of contract theory (lack of consideration).
