Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York
Prescription medicine
I am a nurse practioner in New York State and licensed to prescribe medications. My ex husband and I have joint legal custody of two minor children. Our 7 year old received a prescription from a foot doctor, the same prescription was prescribed months ago for our older daughter. The attending physician gave his verbal OK in the presence of both of us to use either medications on our 7- year old. Now my ex husband is threatning to report me and have my license revoked for using a medicine prescribed to our older daughter on my younger daughter. He can also report me to CPS or take me to Family court. How much, if any trouble can I get in?

Re: Prescription medicine
I think you are alright with the facts as you descibe them but I can only imagine why your ex-husband would try to do this.
Watch out that he does not try to accuse you of over medicating- or Munchausen's syndrome.
Re: Prescription medicine
The best advice is to stay out of the courts. if that means paying for another prescription, then it may be worth the money.
It is hard to know what can happen because so many these days falsify claims and defraud people and the courts. Be very careful.
Perhaps this is not a man with whom you want to share your life.
