Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Roommate Rights

I am current on a lease with a couple who has recently broken up. Things have turned ugly, and though the female has agreed to stay on until the end of the lease (three months), she has said that if in that time anyone other than one of the three of us on the lease enters the apt. she will call the police and have them removed. I currently don't live with my boyfriend and do like to have him over from time to time. I'm curious what my rights are as a tennant on the lease...can she really have my boyfriend removed from the property?

Re: Roommate Rights

As a signatory to the lease itself, you may enjoy all the benefits allowed under the law subject, perhaps, to any written agreement you made with other signatories to the lease (if one exists). Absent that sort of expressed, written restriction you are entitled by law to have your friend on the premises as you please.
