Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

I was scammed out of some money by someone who claimed to work for PC Richards. He offered to pick up the money to pay for the washer and dryer that I was going to buy at a clearance sale. I never received the washer and dryer or my money back. I did have him sign something saying that he received the money from me and I have his cell phone number, but he keeps hanging up on me. How do I go about finding him so that I can get my money back? I am a single mother of 3 and $530.00 is a lot of money for me to just go down the drain.

As long as you have "clean hands" a remedy may involve contacting PC Richards and seek reimbursement.
