someone shot at me

a little over a year ago someone shot my bedroom window out in the middle of the night and drove off. three people were in the car, the other two fessed up and gave the name of the shooter. the shooter was charged with a number of things and only convicted of a minor misdormeanor, having to pay restitution to the homeowner (i rent). im having a hard time sleeping and wont go near/passed windows at night and nearly have panic attacks at any unexplainable noise i hear in the night. is there anything else i can do? my live in girlfriend was asleep at the time of the shooting as well and this goes for her as well.

You should seeking counseling from a mental heath care provider. You should be covered by your health insurance. As to legal action, you can file suit against the shooter and his accomplices for your mental and emotional injury. It is best that you get assistance from a negligence attorney.
