Slander?

About 8 years ago, I stopped talking to a ''friend'' because we couldn't get along anymore. I'm five months pregnant now and I have heard from several people I frequently keep in touch with that this ''friend'' is telling them that my pregnancy is a mistake and has told these people that I engage in risky sexual activities. Do I have a slander case?

Probably. Two questions: what are your damages? and b) could you afford an attorney at $200-$400/hr and a minimum of $10,000 in investment. Defamation cases are not done on a contingency fee basis.
