Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York
Small Claims
I owed my former friend $670, and I've been paying him in cash every month $120. I now owe him $350, but he is now threatening me about taking legal action if I don't pay him the remaining balance on June 30th 2008. I've been paying him every month, and he never set any time table as to when I would pay him the money. Now he decides to threaten me. What can I do?

Re: Small Claims
Relax and continue with your payment plan. By the time you make your next payment the balanced owed would be too small for smalls claims court. By the way, you may want to pay him/her via check so that you have a record of the payments.
