Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York
subpoena
Hello. I owned a company, now out of business. I sued a client for non payment of goods. Client counter-sued me. Judge REFUSED to look at my suit evidence and counter suit won. Amount awarded is $4200. I WILL NOT pay client. He now wants to issue subpoena against me personally. Question-Am I personally liable in any way for amount? My suit was brought to court by my company, not me personally. Suggestions how to get him off my back?

Re: subpoena
It depends on what type of company you had and how it went out of business. Was there a discharge in bankruptcy? If it was a corporation generally you should not be personally liable-
however if a partnership or other form you may be.
