sue hospital for damaging personal items?

so i was sent to ER after falling down. when i woke up i discovered they have cut off my jacket which was worth more than $1000. the jacket is ruined and cut in several pieces and cannot be restored again.

can i sue the hospital because they ruined my valuable clothing without my consent while i was unconscious? under what law can o i sue them for?

You can sue them for negligence, but it will not work. They are covered by the Good Samaritan rule.

You were in danger, therefore it invites rescue. Thus, there is a presumption that you gave your consent to be rescued. Is saving a jacket more important than saving your life?
