If you are being sued and you want to settle outside of court, before litigation begins, have you ever heard of the party suing you not accepting check or money order, only electronic payments?

Yes. A settling party has the right to insist on a particular method of payment.

I have heard of it. And Mr. Hoffman is correct in his advice. I would counter-offer with a bank check.
