Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Uninsured lawnmower man's mower accidentally throws unidentified object through

I hired an independent lawnman to cut my grass. His last mowing happened a week ago when his mower accidentally hurled some object from 20'away to a double-paned window which broke it along with a rip in the outer screen. He is not insured(we unfortunately found out after this mishap) but did say he would pay for the window repair. We contacted our homeowners insurance and we have to pay $100 for a deductible. We have a window repairman fixing the screen and window at a cost of $180. How much is the mowerman resposible for and how do we get it from him?

If he said he'd pay for the repair...just give him the bill for the amount...No harm, no foul.

If he does notpay, then sue in in small claims for the entire amount, that includes your deductible. You'll get the costs back of you win.

Good Luck
