Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Unreasonable Noise Section 133-4 TO

I have been given an appearence ticket for the above charge. I am disabled with MS and wheelchair bound. I have sent a letter to the judge requesting this matter be handled by mail and have yet to hear from him. I was playing loud music and yelling at neighbors. Just prior to my tirade I was on IV steriods possibly causing me to over react to a minor issue. I don't have an idea what the penalty for this charge might be and I need to know if I should get a lawyer. I have limited income and could not afford to pay much. Is there an agency that could assist me in shopping for an attorney if you feel like I need one? I have letter of apology to my neighbors and my landlord. I have lived here for 7 years and there is also a possibilty that something is on record of me prior to this issue. I cannot get to the police office to get a copy of the report and to check to see if they have anything else on file. Thank you.

generally, there must be an apeparance made if this is within the city... if you need assistance my office would be willing to work with you for the potential fees on this case, which usually are VERY minimal (ie. in the hundreds of dollars as opposed to thousands for most cases) - our office does also accept credit card payments for your convenience.
