Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York
verbal agreement for personal loan
I gave my younger brother $3,000.00 as a personal loan three years ago to help save his home in which he was behind payment on. There was no written contract but I do have witnesses. I have asked several times but no response or money has been paid. Is it possible for me to take him to court to get my money?? Thank you!!

Re: verbal agreement for personal loan
Yes. You can make application in small claims court for judgment against your brother for non-payment of a loan.
Remember that the small claims court where you file the claim must be located where your brother resides.
Mike.
