Legal Question in Health Care Law in New York
Rare Medication Adverse Affect
I took generic forms of Accutane (Isotretinoin) an anti-acne drug. For the last two years I have had a very severe skin reaction. My skin has been left permanently dry and eczema prone. I've been hospitalized a few times and my life has seriously been affected. My skin is so sensitive I've been left homebound. Currently on disability. I would like to sue the makers of the generic drugs. I took three different brands for three months: Sotret, Amnesteem, Claravis. Can I sue all three makers? Can I sue the original manufacturer of Accutane? Also, dermatologists have said this is a rare but permanent side effect!

Re: Rare Medication Adverse Affect
I hoped that someone else would answer this before I do.
I am an attorney who started out as an associate professor of medicine at SUNY@ Buffalo, so I am familiar with drugs and their interactions.
If you could send me all of the medical information that you have, I will take a look at it.
