Legal Question in Health Care Law in New York
I worked in a hospital. While in the process of reporting discrimination and harassment to Labor Relations, I was terminated. After being terminated, I reported the instances to HR. I would to submit proof of the discrimination and harassment by providing recorded conversations since HR plan to conduct an investigation. On one recording while I was on the phone with EMS, I mention a patient's name and health insurance information. I would like to know if I would be in violation of the HIPAA law since on the recordings I mentioned a patient's full name and health insurance information?
