Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York
I was adopted, how do I petition my birth mother to US
In 1987, my grandparents who are US citizens adopted me when I was 16 yrs. old, in the Philippines. After 2 yrs. my grandfather died and my grandmother went back to the US. Thereafter, I went back to my natural parents' house until I come to the US in 2000 as a tourist and married a US citizen in 2001. I am aware of the INS law that only adoptive parents can be petitioned but how can I get my birth mother to come here. Is there any other way?
Thank you.
