American Soldier with Son in Colombia

My brother met a Colombian lady in Germany, she then left to her native land Colombia (she is not a US citizen) and had the baby boy. My brother married another women. Our family keeps in contact with the child who is about 5 now. If there anyway the Colombian mother and child can come into the United States on a tourist Visa. My mother would like to meet her grandson and she does not want to go to Colombia. I'm the boys aunt, I tried getting them to visit New York and stay at my home by sending them a letter of invitation and all my information, she took to the Embassy and was turned down. Please Help.

Assuming that the child has been recognized as your brother's son pursuant to law, the child would have acquired US citizenship and may obtain a US passport to enter the US. As for the mother, even if you invite her to the US, it is doubtful that she will be issued a B2 visa to enter to enter the US with the child. So someone may still have to go Colombia to bring the child to the US or she may have to make arrangements for someone else to bring the child here.
