how to apply for wife who is canadain citizen?

1) what do i need to do in order for me to apply for my wife who is a canadain citizen? and im a american citizen! i mean do i need proof of texfile for 3 years? and what els?

You have the option of applying for an immigrant visa or a K-3 visa. Either way, you must meet the requirements of the affidavit of support.

There are a number of documents and forms which must be filed in order to complete each of the scenarios listed above. You must first decide which path you prefer.

If your wife is currently in the U.S., another possible choice may be for her to adjust status (that is, to apply for green card without having to leave the U.S.), assuming she qualifies for adjustment. Some of the factors to consider relate to how long she has been in the U.S. since her last entry, processing times for immigrant visa and K-3 visa at the U.S. Consulate in her Canadian city and whether she needs to travel to Canada in the next few months. In any event, the forms (such as I-130 and I-485) are available on

www.uscis.gov or you can contact an immigration attorney to handle the filing process for you and your wife.
