Re: assets

Normally, if the U.S. consulate does require an affidavit of support for a K-3 visa applicant, it is on the I-134 form and not on the I-864 form, which is required only later at the adjustment of status stage. You need to check the U.S. poverty guidelines at www.uscis.gov to determine if your income is sufficient for your household size. If it is insufficient, you may be able to rely on your assets. In borderline cases, consular officials have been known to deny visa applications. Contact an immigration attorney if you need assistance with your immigration matter.
